Global Development at the Schering-Plough Research Institute (SPRI) helps identify promising new compounds for humans and guide them through the product pipeline. The cross-functional Global Development team becomes involved early in the discovery process, helping evaluate drug candidates to find those that will meet important medical needs.
Our scientists play key roles throughout the development process in the following areas:
Pharmaceutical Sciences: Scientists develop or utilize active pharmaceutical ingredients, clinical trial and commercial formulations, and associated clinical supplies to facilitate the approval and launch of new medicines and biologic products.
Clinical Development: Researchers test experimental drugs in humans in Phase I, II, and III clinical trials to
determine their safety and efficacy profiles.
Regulatory Affairs: This group is the liaison between SPRI and regulatory agencies worldwide, and is involved in review of protocols, labeling, promotional materials, study reports and license maintenance.
Global Project Management: Colleagues are responsible for all aspects of developing the top pipeline products at Schering-Plough.
Schering-Plough is on an exciting transformational journey, and nowhere is this more evident than in our research and development (R&D) area. Read
