Guidelines for the Schering-Plough Foundation

The Foundation considers requests from tax-exempt, non-profit organizations located in the United States, or its possessions, whose goals and activities fall within itsstated objectives and areas of interest. All requests for funding must be made online and include the following information:

• The specific purpose for which funding is being sought;
• Background information on the requesting organization;
• A statement of the major programs and services rendered by the organization;
• Evidence of the organization’s tax-exempt status;
• The last audited financial statements;
• A program budget, if the application relates to a specific activity;
• Supportive material, including a copy of the organization’s annual report is desirable.

It is customary for an organization, whether funded or not funded, to wait one year before submitting a subsequent proposal.

Requests for support are reviewed regularly. Multi-year pledges are made periodically. In such cases, a funding schedule is established for completing commitments. Approved requests are generally paid in the fourth quarter of the year.

Support is not given to individuals.

Support can only be given to the requesting 501 (c) (3) organization . Requests made by a third party to benefit another organization will not be considered.

After reviewing our guidelines, the first step in applying for funding is to complete the Pre-Application Questionnaire.

Corporate Responsibility

Hundreds of Schering-Plough U.S. colleagues volunteered as part of the 2007 Community Projects Day. Colleagues rolled up their sleeves to paint rooms, renovate landscaping, entertain the elderly, deliver meals to the homebound, sort clothing and food donations, read to young children and many other tasks.
