Health Education Community Initiatives

Schering-Plough provides charitable contributions to improve the health and wellness of people around the world. It also serves as a resource for expanding access to health care for underserved families and communities and increasing public awareness of critical health issues. The company sponsors community and school-based public health initiatives in the areas of pediatric health, such as asthma and allergies and childhood obesity.

Our Priorities in Health:

• Key Therapeutic Areas: Asthma and allergy;oncology; heart disease; Hepatitis C; HIV/AIDS; infertility; women'd health; and mental health.

• Access and Quality of Health Care: Enhance the quality of healthcare; ensure accessibility of medical treatment

• Support of Health Care Providers to Enhance Patient Care: Hospitals, community health centers, school-based health programs, health fairs and forums

• Initiatives: Focusing on the health and education of our communities with an emphasis on children and young people, including teen substance abuse prevention, pediatric obesity programs, and school nurse asthma/allergy programs

Hundreds of Schering-Plough U.S. colleagues volunteered as part of the 2007 Community Projects Day. Colleagues rolled up their sleeves to paint rooms, renovate landscaping, entertain the elderly, deliver meals to the homebound, sort clothing and food donations, read to young children and many other tasks.
