Ian McInnes, Ph.D., is senior vice president and president, Global Supply Chain (GSC),
for Schering-Plough Corporation.
McInnes joined Schering-Plough as senior vice president, Global Supply Chain, in May 2004. In his present position, he is responsible for the supply of products to Schering-Plough's customers worldwide, including human prescription medicines as well as animal health and consumer health care products. He leads the development and implementation of a global manufacturing strategy to integrate all manufacturing facilities worldwide, including those of Organon and Intervet. Additionally, he is responsible for the Company's global procurement activities.
McInnes came to Schering-Plough from Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he held the position of executive vice president, Supply Chain. He previously was employed by Pharmacia Corporation as senior vice president, Global Supply, and was an elected officer. While with Pharmacia, McInnes was responsible for the quality and supply functions at 44 plants around the world. Having spent his entire career in the pharmaceutical industry, McInnes has held positions of increasing responsibility at GlaxoSmithKline, Baxter Healthcare and AstraZeneca.
McInnes holds both a B.S. degree in manufacturing technology and manufacturing management and a Ph.D. degree in manufacturing engineering and systems from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
